We got up at 2:30 am

We got up at 2:30 to drive up to the top of the volcano and watch the sunrise. We got there at 4:30 and it was about 37 degrees and pitch black. Here you can see the stars like never before. The Milky Way was highly visible and even a planet or two. Definitely worth it! We went to the top of the summit to watch for the sunrise and froze our booty's off. It was hard to take pictures when you could not feel your hands. I think the videos posted in backwards order.

We found out today that the band that played at our luau just played at a luau President Obama threw.http://www.usnews.com/articles/news/washington-whispers/2009/06/24/obama-to-host-a-hawaiian-style-luau-for-congress.html

  1. You are making me sooooo homesick for Hawaii! Every time we went to the beach on the north end of Oahu we would stop for shave ice. Yum!! I'm so glad you are having so many fun experiences.
    PS. Max says "Hi!"
